Haris Iliadis -Conductor

 

 Haris Iliadis was born on the 10.09.1972 in Thessaloniki.

He has piano, harmony and counterpoint at the «new Conservatory of Thessaloniki», studied in the classes of Kate Saragiotou and Christos Samaras. The «new Conservatory», he gained the diploma of harmony in 1991, the piano diploma in 1992 (with distinction) and the diploma of counterpoint in 1993.

In October 1993 he further studied orchestral conducting at the University for music and performing arts "Mozarteum" in Salzburg (class Michael Gielen / Dennis Russel Davis).

Ventus Optimus - International Summer Masterclasses for Wind Instruments

 

The 8th International Summer Master Course “Ventus Optimus” will be held in Łódź from 10 – 16 July 2016 at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź (ul. Żubardzka 2a – near Al. Włókniarzy).

The course is organised by the Department of Woodwind Instruments of the Instrumental Studies Faculty at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź

Omiros Yavroumis graduated in 2002 from the Royal Academy of Music in London with the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, together with the Degree of Musicology from the University of Athens, where he now continues as a PhD student.

He has attended master classes and has taken violin lessons with Ruggiero Ricci, Zakhar Bron, Lydia Mordkovitch, Eric Friedman, Maurizio Fuks, Sylvia Rosenberg, Grigory Zhislin, etc., and has won numerous awards in solo and chamber music competitions, both in Greece and abroad. He has appeared as a soloist with the State Orchestra of Athens, the City of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, the City of Volos Symphony Orchestra, etc.

He has also appeared as soloist and has taken part in chamber music groups and orchestras in many countries (USA, United Kingdom, Austria, France and Italy), under famous conductors such as Sir Colin Davies, Sir Charles Mackerras, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Naeme Yarvi, Kent Nagano, etc., in venues including the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Opera House in London, Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg etc.

Since 2002, he is the concertmaster of the City of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra as well as, from 2004, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Kalamaria.
