George - Emmanuel Lazaridis’ performances have been characterized as "special enough to be beyond comparison" (BBC Music Magazine, Adrian Jack).

Mentored by Yonty Solomon, Alfred Brendel and Domna Evnouhidou, he has received a plethora of international prizes, honorary awards and scholarships since age eleven.

Born in Greece in 1978, G.E.L. enjoys a flourishing international career that has taken him from USA and Mexico to Europe, Russia and the Middle East, in some of the most prestigious international music festivals and legendary venues such as Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Musikverein, St Petersburg Philharmonic.

He has performed with the St Petersburg, Hamburg, Royal, Strasbourg, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestras amongst many others, under the direction of personalities such as Sir Neville Marriner, Ingo Metzmacher, Yuri Temirkanov, Maxim Schostakovich. A sought after chamber musician, he has also collaborated with renowned ensembles and soloists such as the Medici Quartet, the Ysaye Quartet, the Vienna Octet, the BT Scottish Ensemble, Leonidas kavakos etc.

His various CD releases have been rapturously received, with five-star reviews from the International Press, often selected as instrumental discs of the month. Recent recordings were selected within the top 50 best releases of the decade by “The Pianist” and ranked amongst the best historical performances, alongside keyboard giants such as Richter and Arrau.

He studied composition with Edwin Roxborough, Christos Samaras and Daryl Runswick. He has mainly composed for solo piano, chorus and combinations of the two genres, as well as song cycles and music for theatre, dance and multimedia productions. He has received commissions from the Europa Cantat Festival, the Cultural Capital of Europe 1997 Organization, the Mercouri Foundation, Birmingham’s New Arts Festival, the Hellenic International Festival, the Athens State Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, Princeton University, the international Festival “Milano incontra di Grecia” etc.

G.E.L. is co-founder of international cultural structures and ensembles such as the ADAP Association of Artists for Peace, the Music-Village International Festival and the "KYKLOS" Ensemble. A regular member of international competition panels (Sussex, Maria Callas etc), G.E.L. is also a widely respected pedagogue, giving masterclasses worldwide in music academies and universities such as Trinity College, Birmingham City University, Manhattan School of Music etc. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as music director at the Demetria International Festival.

Since 2010 he is Artistic Director at the Thessaloniki Concert Halls Organization, where he leaded the foundation of new educational institutions such as the International Children Choirs Festival and “MOYSA” - an el-sistema inspired youth symphony, supported by the S.
