The last concert of the year 2015 also holds something very particular sonderes ready: Nikos Xanthoulis who has studied trumpet and composition in Athens and specializes, among other things, to compose music for reconstructed ancient Greek instruments, presents his Concerto for Orchestra and Lyra. And he has thoroughly studied the ancient music theory and playing the old Lyra itself. The concert consists of a dialogue between the lyre and the symphony orchestra. Next to it is Haydn's Concerto no. 1 for cello and orchestra in C major on the program with which the Thai cellist Tapalin Charoensook makes her debut at the Berlin Reinickendorf Classics. She has acquired her master's degree at the Hochschule "Franz Liszt" in Weimar and is now in addition to their extensive chen concert lecturer for Strings and Chamber Music at Mahidol University in Bangkok. The second part provides the New Year's Concert 2015 foray into film music with classics of John Williams as a priority and as always with Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" at the end.
